Warrawong Professional Learning Grants Information to support completion of an application
The Warrawong fund supports not for profit early childhood services or organisations in Victoria to enable staff to undertake training or professional development in the field of early childhood, and projects and initiatives relating to the training and professional development of staff working in the field of early childhood.
Grants are available to early childhood services or organisations to provide professional learning opportunities for early childhood professionals within the service/organisation.
Priority will be given to those disadvantaged from participating in professional development due to geographic location, physical, personal, economic or social circumstances.
Grants are available only to not-for-profit early childhood services or organisations in Victoria.
When completing an application for Warrawong Professional Learning Grants please carefully consider the content in each section. The following examples may support your considerations.
1. Brief Description of what the professional learning will involve and how the aims and objectives will be met

A series of workshops that will contribute to the outcome of the professional learning

2. The aims and objectives of the professional learning and how the aims and objectives will be met
Increase skills in professional knowledge related to professional learning
How will this professional learning add value to your service / program?
If a new approach or program in early childhood education, early childhood special education, is it research based?

Value to the organisation?
How the professional learning will relate to professional practice and engagement with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) or Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF)
What will be the outcome of the professional learning?
3. List the benefits
How educators would be better informed about practice
Increased knowledge of best practice in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), Early Childhood Intervention (ECI)
Broadening your knowledge of other ways of doing things
How you would be using this new knowledge to assist others in the service/program/organisation/ region (train the trainer)
Staff having increased skills to support children and families
More theoretical understanding of diverse models in Early Childhood Education ( ECE) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

May be about distance and expense
Personal – physical disability of a staff member, family disadvantage for staff member (e.g. main carer)
Economic – disadvantaged service – high unemployment, single income families
Social – lack of contact with other services, isolated, Language Backgrounds other than English (LBOTE) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC), drought, floods

It is important to provide a detailed budget. You will need to itemise the expenses associated with the proposed Professional Learning such as fees, replacement staff, travel, accommodation. If you are receiving financial assistance from other sources for any item, indicate in the ‘Item Column’ the full cost and the proportion that you are requesting in relation to this grant application.
